We
have long explored much of identity, war and peace in previous meetings. This
year’s theme will help us examine linguistic and cultural continuity and change
in the very diverse Sudan.
Papers will be especially welcomed on topics such as: language extinction, language
diversity; language identity; Arabic as a lingua franca; “Juba Arabic: language status issues; endangered languages,
language of instruction, popular discourse, current linguistic research, neologisms,
folklore and sayings, literature, poetry, linguistic standardization, ancient
languages, language policy in the south, and status of English. As
always, papers on other topics such as history, politics, development, education,
human rights etc. will be considered.
Registration payment MUST be received with your
